Why this checker has three answers
7.44 × 9.94 inches is not a full rectangular workspace
Cricut says the maximum Print Then Cut area varies with the machine, material page size, and the proportions of the project. Space is reserved for sensor markings, so the cuttable region is not a full rectangle or square. That is why this tool separates a conservative rectangular fit from a shape-dependent fit instead of treating the published horizontal and vertical maximums as one guaranteed rectangle.

Maker and Explore support all five sizes above. Joy Xtra supports Letter and A4. Venture supports these plus additional larger formats. Joy 2 also supports Letter and A4, but its published maximum horizontal extent is narrower: 3.19 in on Letter and 3.07 in on A4.
What “shape-dependent” means
If your design is inside Cricut's published outer dimensions but outside this checker's conservative rectangle, a solid rectangle may collide with reserved sensor-mark space. Artwork that leaves the affected corners empty may still fit. Design Space remains the final authority for placement.
The conservative rectangles used here are planning estimates based on repeat community measurements, not dimensions published by Cricut. For page sizes where we do not have a validated conservative rectangle, the checker deliberately avoids claiming a guaranteed rectangular fit.
Why Joy 2 is handled separately
Cricut says Joy 2 cannot feed a full-size printable sheet. Design Space splits the printed sheet into two halves and places the printable elements on two mats. For that reason, this checker uses Cricut's published Joy 2 outer limits but does not pretend the normal conservative rectangle model applies to Joy 2.
Do not print a homemade registration PDF
This tool checks dimensions only. It does not generate Cricut sensor marks. Cricut warns that printing a Print Then Cut project as a PDF outside the normal Design Space flow can produce incorrectly sized cut-sensor markings. Finish the actual Print Then Cut job in Design Space on the same device and session.
